Summer is here

Sleeping in
the Pool
Hanging with friends
Sleeping in
Six Flags
Strolls through the park
Sleeping in
Vacation
Mission trips
Shopping all day

Did I mention sleeping in? You are only a few weeks away from being in a position where you will have little responsibilty and plenty of free time. I know that all of this is very inticing and sounds like a lot of fun. As a matter of fact it would be a lot of fun (except I have to work for a living). I want to encourage you to take the free time that you will have this summer and do something special with it.

For example you could get a group fo friends together and go serve at the Salvation Army every week. You could find some other shelter or service that needs help and volunteer just two hours a week during the summer to them. You could find a neighbor that is unable to care for their yard on their own and go over and help them out, without getting paid. You could just go the Senior Citizens home and spend some time just talking to those who are their. Better yet, we have many shut-ins that could use someone coming and talking to them once a week just for fun. It would be amazing to hear their stories of life.

So do something this summer! I will personally make myself available to help in anyway possible. I can even get a list of shut-ins for you to visit. I know that this will be a risk at first, but God will bless you as you serve him by caring for others.

What are you going to do?

Great! I am excited to see students who will embrace life and make the most of it simply by serving others. Let me know what you decide to do.
